digital art direction (central garden & pet)

 Central Garden & Pet

2019 - Present
As Senior Digital Designer at Central Garden & Pet, I’m responsible for determining the art direction and executing content for almost every image that touches the digital shelf for 600+ products across Central’s umbrella of 100+ brands. In 2023 alone, I delivered 2,088 total assets, with an average of 172 per month. Below are some highlights of my responsibilities and accomplishments:

  • Art direction and creation of e-commerce content including Alt Images, Storefront Assets, Enhanced Content, and other Product Detail Page content, according to retailer specifications.

  • Wireframes, web design, UI design, and style guide creation for brand websites (Pennington.com, FireAnts.com, ImageforWeeds.com, and MossOut.com), with a focus on page speed and mobile optimization.

  • Creation of paid display ads for Google and Amazon that drove over 11.6M impressions and 288k clicks in Spring 2024.

  • Contributed to Central’s highest-ever digital sales year for Lowe’s, with 2x penetration and 27% growth in 2023.

  • Activated a design strategy for main item images that increased purchase count by 185%, add to cart count by 248%, and PDP views by 390% in the first week of go-live on Walmart.com.

Product Detail Page Content

Alt images (the carousel of product images that educate consumers about the product when shopping online) and Enhanced Content (the below-the-fold content that provides more in-depth info) are typically where customers spend the most time learning about a product before making a purchase. Below are some of my favorites examples of images and layouts I’ve created.

Video

Below is a video I storyboarded, edited, and created motion graphics for. This had a B2B goal: Pennington WildBird wanted to reinforce their reputation as great partners by highlighting the quality of the product while showcasing their in-house service team at The Home Depot’s yearly manager meeting.
